[TUTORIAL] How If You Don't Know How To Use A Command?

Bismillah. This is a simple tutorial for all of my dear brothers. What we do if we don't know what should we do in Linux terminal? We can type "man" without quotes followed by command name. Or you can just type "help" without quotes. I will show you.

A simple example, you can type man traceroute to show traceroute program's manual. Okay, traceroute is a command name and it is a program for printing the route packets trace to network host.

You can exit the manual page by typing "q" without quotes. It is easy to know details of program in terminal!

And you can reveal the help page of every program installed by typing "--help" without quotes after command name. This is a simple example too, just type traceroute --help and a help page will revealed for you. Ow, help is different from man. You can see that help is a small summary from man.

Okay, you will not find man page or help page if the program you want to know is not installed in your Linux yet. So, you can do this tutorial by typing another program name than my traceroute here, such as ls, fdisk, rm, and many more. You can see many command hy typing "help" only without quotes.

And hey, I am forget. You should always press enter after typing any command. Enter means execute. Yes, now you can do it. Who will we ask if we don't know the command? Man and help! I hope it is will be useful for you all, my dear brothers!
