FILM JOURNEY 2:
The Mysterious ISLAND (2012)
Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) is confident
that his grandfather was still alive and now need help. No one who believes but
Sean's determination to come to help. Sean's stepfather must take to ensure
that Sean survived.
Hank Parsons (Dwayne Johnson), Sean's
stepfather, actually doubt the truth of the received message Sean. Secret
messages that turned out to contain the coordinates of the reference to an
island that was not in the map. In fact, everyone was convinced there was no
island there. No one willing to take Sean and Hank go there except of course
the reckless pilot.
With some difficulty, finally Sean and Hank
finds daring pilot named Gabato (Luis Guzman) and his daughter Kailani (Vanessa
Hudgens). When they reached their
destination, was Alexander (Michael Caine), Sean's grandfather, was indeed
still alive and, more surprisingly, the mysterious island that is considered
just a legend really exist. The problem is, the island was about to be drowned
and five of them should be looking for ways to save themselves....

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH which was launched in 2008 and was a commercial success m. Still the same as the first, second film is also inspired by theworks of Jules Verne.
Actually there is an opportunity to make this film so much more than just an entertainingspectacle. If only the script while the characterizations are well done and the acting gets more attention, could be a JOURNEY 2: The Mysterious ISLAND This would be moreinteresting. Unfortunately, it looks like that's not what the studio while making this film.
From the visual side there is no problem with this film. CGI looks very convincing andmakes everything look so real just a fantasy so real. Film technology is allowing for that, but that does not mean necessarily the technology can take over the role of script andacting. Finally, the story of Jules Verne is actually very intriguing so it feels wasted.
